In Science we have been discussing matter and its various properties. Today we conducted two different experiments. First, we looked at a variety of spoons and made a hypothesis for each one on whether it would sink or float. After discussing common properties of spoons that would sink or float, the second graders selected their own classroom item to test. In the final photo you can see the items on the left we the "sink" items and the items on the right were the "float" items. Second graders had reasons and were able to back up with thoughts with observations and connections to the spoons.
