We had a wonderful week in Grade 2! We celebrated Earth Day by listening to Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong and drawing our visualizations. In math we created quilts from different shapes and recorded our observations. We had Junior Achievement and learned about earning money, taxes, and different jobs. During our whole group reading time we read opinion articles and had lively debates on if zoos are good for animals or not and if you should be able to bring your own food into movie theaters. During small group reading time we read a variety of articles and poems and discussed main idea and details. On Thursday we celebrated Poem in Your Pocket day by sharing poems written by the students with other second grade students. We were so happy to be outside and sharing poetry!
