On Wednesday, February 17th we went on our field trip to the Science Museum of Minnesota. The second graders had a wonderful time exploring the museum, watching the educational programs, and taking a class. Our class was called "Dinosaur Dentistry". The students we able to investigate teeth from different mammals, compare teeth from dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals to animals we currently find on earth. Second graders observed, discussed, experimented, and came to conclusions. They were SCIENTISTS! :) February is "I Love to Read" month, and Kennedy is celebrating. There is a school wide door decorating of a book the students pick. Our class selected Lulu Walks the Dogs. Lulu is a little girl who wants to earn money, so she begins a dog walking business. She runs into several challenges along the way.
We also celebrated with a school wide D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything and Read) time on Thursday. We ALL picked a cozy spot and a good book. It was fun, many of us wanted the time to continue! I am so proud of our class for doing such a wonderful job in gym and music today for their informances. They worked hard and had fun! Mr. VanDuzer (gym) and Ms. Arnoldy (music) did a wonderful job of putting today together. Please see the videos below for the songs in music. The very last video is a collection of the photos I took today in both gym and music. Enjoy! |
