We were so fortunate to have Nancy Carlson come visit our school this week. She talked to the students about the importance of imagination and encouraged writing and drawing every day. When we returned to the classroom the second graders were motivated to use their imaginations!

Continuing to measure in math. This week we have worked on using multiple tools and multiple units of measurement and deciding what tools are appropriate for which items. In science we tried a variety of spoons to see if they would sink or float. We discussed properties and made predictions. After gathering information from the spoons, each student picked a classroom item to predict and try out to see if it would sink of float based on its properties.
Students also worked on water color washes for a writing project we are working on! |
