In Science we have been learning about physical changes in matter. Second graders used Play-Doh to demonstrate physical changes in matter. We began by using a balance to show physical changes in pieces of Play-Doh of the same size will still have the same mass. Second graders broke their Play-Doh into two equal pieces and created physical changes. We discussed rolling, teaching, pinching, and squishing are all types of physical changes. As a follow up activity the second graders created physical changes to paper. We cut, folded, and bent paper to create physical changes. By folding, cutting, and bending the second graders created fortune tellers. We had so much fun with them!
