Another wonderful week of learning happened in second grade! Check out our photos below to see what we have been up to! Only One You We had a special guest reader, Mr. Latch come visit our classroom. He is reading to each class in the school. He read Only One You. The book has the message that there is only one of each of us and we are all unique, but we can work together to make the world a better place. Mrs. Heckendorf had each student create a fish during their art time. Now the Kennedy hallways are lined with beautiful fish made by all of the students and staff in our school. We will continue to use the book as a reference this school year. Flexible Learning in Action! We spent a lot of time talking about our Flexible Learning Classroom this week. On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday we talked about each category separately. We put our thoughts on one big poster. Students were able to select their own spots on Thursday and Friday. Independent Reading We also talked about expectations for Read to Self time. Students have been working to build their stamina. Our goal is to get to 30 minutes of uninterrupted reading each day.
